Guardian participation is required
A parent or legal guardian is responsible for deciding whether FamilyCircle is appropriate for a child, authorizing the child’s participation, and configuring Apple Family Sharing, Family Controls, or corresponding supported-platform controls where required. FamilyCircle is not designed to let a child independently grant themselves adult or administrative privileges.
The same child-safety and account-protection rules apply when a family travels, subject to local law, platform availability, and connectivity. Availability of a specific control depends on the installed FamilyCircle release and supported platform.
Set Up Child Device
- An authorized Parent or Manager opens the intended Circle and selects the exact child.
- The adult selects Set Up Child Device to issue a short-lived, single-use setup authorization.
- The authorization is used on the child’s intended device and only for the FamilyCircle product and supported platform for which it was issued.
- The server links that installation to the selected child’s stable User ID—not to the Parent or Manager who issued the authorization.
A child does not need a phone number or email address for guardian-approved setup. Contact details are not used as proof of the child’s identity.
Boundaries that cannot be bypassed
- A child-device setup authorization expires and works only once.
- It cannot be reused for another child, another product, an unsupported platform, or a different environment.
- It cannot elevate the child’s Circle role, transfer Circle ownership, or create independent adult authority.
- The server—not the requesting device—computes whether the issuing adult is authorized and whether the selected child is eligible.
- Support recovery cannot select a different child, change Circle ownership or roles, or bypass these restrictions.
Guardian-managed sharing and controls
Circle membership does not silently enable a child’s location, Circle Place, or Screen Time sharing. The participating device must complete the applicable product and platform setup, and authorized adults manage the family configuration within their legal authority.
Apple keeps exact Screen Time app, website, and category selections encrypted within Apple’s frameworks and on participating devices. Vejara and FamilyCircle support personnel cannot see those selections. FamilyCircle coordinates plan terms, readiness, and requests but cannot override operating-system permissions or guardian-managed platform controls.
Device and account protection
Every child device receives its own Installation or Device ID and credentials, separate from the child’s stable User ID. An authorized adult can review eligible installations in My Devices and use Revoke Device for a lost or replaced child device. Revocation ends that installation’s sessions and future sharing without deleting the child’s cloud account.
A last-active time means only that FamilyCircle last received service activity at that time. It does not indicate whether the device is powered on, currently connected, or in a particular person’s possession.
Questions or concerns
If you believe a child was added without appropriate authority, a setup authorization was misused, or a child device should be revoked, contact support@vejara.com. Include a support reference when available. Never email a recovery code, setup authorization, device credential, invitation code, or screenshot containing a code or Screen Time selection.
